6 Days Old: Mom's Perspective

And now we've got her at home. The picture on the right is after her first trip to church on Dominic's birthday.
For all the problems, complications, long labors, etc. experienced by our friends recently, we were blessed with such a wonderful childbirth experience. I did end up being able to have an epidural, and with it, labor and delivery were easier than I had anticipated.
Mom made it to Indy in plenty of time for delivery. She was home roughly 24 hours before having to make the return trip now that we were actually having the baby. She stayed with us through Sunday morning, and it was so great to have her here. Thanks again, Mom. We love you!
Our nurse for labor and delivery was awesome. (Note to anyone going to St. Vincent Women's: ask for Maggie!) All the floor nurses who took care of us were also great, particularly Susan. We really feel blessed.
It's a little hard to believe that she is ours and we're our own little family now. Dominic is being such a good daddy and a great help to me.
Here is a photo after her first bath at home. She didn't like it very much, but was happy to be cuddled up in a hooded towel when it was all done.
Dominic's mom has taken the opening we had for resident grandmother. She's staying with us for a couple of days, then Dom and I will be on our own! Thanks, Diane!!
Thanks to everyone's congratulatory messages, phone calls, and visits. Anyone in or visiting the Indianapolis area: give us a call -- we'd love to show off the newest (and cutest) member of the Eble family!
