Our Little Bitty Pretty One

We just received the results of Cordelia's first modeling session in the mail; the photo was taken in the hospital on the afternoon of her release. I think Dominic might have a future as a hand and arm model ;) I think it's amazing how much her little face looks like her ultrasound picture (featured in the original post).

She's doing well, but is having trouble differentiating between night and day: her fussy periods tend to be during the late night/early morning hours. We are trying to shift that by stimulating her more during the day, and making the environment more calm and quiet during the evening, to prep her for bedtime. Despite the awake periods, she sometimes is kind enough to wait 4 or more hours between feedings during the overnight hours.

I'm doing pretty well, too. I consider myself to be nearly healed and I'm losing weight (hooray!). Tonight I will give myself my last Lovenox shot (double hooray!!), then I will be on oral anticoagulants (coumadin) for about three months. This medication does require me to have frequent blood tests, but I don't mind: I'm not having to inject myself and the orals are MUCH cheaper than the injections.

She and Daddy hung out on our back porch this afternoon, enjoying the mild weather and fresh air.
