Thank you for reminding me. Yes I know...
..it HAS been almost 3 months since our last post. Fortunately for us, we have some excuses. Holly is busy with our second child. That's right, We're expecting Eble numeral dos this December 20th!!
Tiredness is rampant. She is usually asleep on the couch by 8:30 or 9 and I'll have to wake her to go to bed at 10. Me? Well after deciding that we'd stick to the NW side for a few more years, I was told in no uncertain terms that our daughter COULDN'T live on our neighbors swingset. Though truth be told she wouldn't mind so much. It turns out swinging is much more fun than eating dinner or stopping to use the restroom.
Anyway, after a careful assessment of our backyard forest area, I've used my wedding present-chainsaw (and a 30ft lift boom and LOTS of other helpers) to clear some ground and set a swingset up for our little girl. Inaugural swing was Memorial Day weekend. See for yourself.
Although Cordelia really digs it, it has taken her some time to get used to it. Nothing melts a fathers heart like spending MANY weekends to set up a swingset and having your child run over to the neighbor's!
Cordelia is doing really well these days. We moved her daycare two weeks ago. Mom's commute from home to daycare was 8 miles and now is a whopping block and a half. Not too shabby! She's back in an in-home daycare with a wonderful mother of two. Her language skills took off about 7 or 8 weeks ago. She knows the primary colors, can count to ten and is quite adept at screaming "No Daddy" in the middle of mass on Sundays. I was mortified but fortunately others in church found it amusing.
Contrary to some folks thoughts, we haven't cut her hair yet. Though mullet-esque in appearance it is simply the lack of any shears thus far. Holly and I are just happy our little girl finally has some locks. She's making Daddy quite proud as it is definitely coming in as Strawberry Blonde! I don't have a good close up of her hair so here's one as a chef.
