Week 8 photos

Wednesday was the electrical walk-through with Mike and the electrician.  We went through each room, discussed lighting, switch needs, phone jacks, TV jacks and outlet locations.

There has been a bunch of freezing rain and even some snow here in Indy this week.  Since the roof is not yet on, some of the floors were like an ice rink.  I asked Mike about the flooring and he says it is a special board that is persistent to warping.  Whew!

Holly and I made a design change on the master closet.  The closet previously was rather shallow and ran left to right as you entered it.  There was to be a fire door at the rear of it with storage behind.  We've elected to now make it a deep closet and run it up to the front wall thereby eliminating the fire door.  Some storage will still be available via access doors to below the eaves.

The black tar paper was going to go on the roof as we were leaving and it sounds as though windows will be installed next week.  Prewiring and HVAC will be going in next week.  Brick has a 1 week lead time and stone 2-3 weeks.

Opening from entry hall to dining room was previously missing.  No more.

Pop up in living room now has two 1ft dropdowns to help delineate the different rooms

Living room.  Fireplace will be in center with cabinets on both sides.  Transom windows above cabinets.

Stairs to popup on 2nd floor.  Bedroom straight ahead with laundry room to the right and linen closet to the left

sloped ceiling above stairs to popup.

Master Closet.  2x4s on the floor running to far wall will now be the side walls.  Resulting triangular areas will be storage.

Due to Christmas holidays and New Years, there won't be too much progress to warrant another trip down.  We won't be going down this weekend so no week 9 update.  I'll return with a week 10 update.

Hooray for a bigger closet, I don't think you'll regret that :)
