Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus!

Cordelia has now celebrated her first Christmas. Not that she was any the wiser. . .

We went down to Santa Claus, IN to spend the holiday with my family. Cordelia did well amongst many new people, unfamiliar surroundings, and lots of holiday hullabaloo.

She holds her head up well now and even rolled over for the first time while we were visiting. Her Aunt Heather and I witnessed the milestone: from tummy to back. Dominic was sleeping on the floor nearby and missed it, so we put her on her tummy again, and she did a repeat performance. Of course, she has not done it again since.

We're also doing much better with sleeping. Since mid-December, she has been sleeping for about an 8-hour stretch each night, which translates into one middle of the night feeding, and again in the early morning. It's really nice! She did not do as well while we were staying at my parents' place, but that was to be expected. Now, we're back home and neither Dominic or I have to work until January 3, so we're enjoying our time together as a family.

A Visit with Santa

Cordelia had a nice visit with Santa on her 3-month birthday. She didn't cry at all, and was cooperative in letting me do a little Christmas shopping.

She is so sweet and such a morning baby. We are greeted with nothing but smiles in the morning when she wakes up. She's also very smiley when mommy comes into her room for night feedings.

She's definitely grown over the last month, but we won't go to the doctor's office again until the end of December, so we'll have to wait to see how much weight and height she's added.

Dominic and I are looking forward to December 22nd, which is the last day of work for both of us until January 3rd. Can't wait to have that time together with our "little sis"!

A Big Weekend

Cordelia had a big Thanksgiving weekend, celebrating her second major holiday and getting baptized on Sunday.

We went over to Grandmom and Grandpop Eble's house for Thanksgiving for a relaxed family day.

On Friday night we had two house guests: Great Grandma Galey and Great Aunt Pam. On Saturday, 11 additional house guests arrived: my parents, sisters, brother-in-law, niece and nephew. There was hardly any floor space left available!

Sunday was the baptism. We went to morning mass, then returned to our house for brunch before going back to church for the baptism. There were 5 others baptized, and Cordelia was last. None of the others cried, and Cordelia was asleep when her turn came. To my delight and surprise, she didn't cry either! They did use warm water, which helped tremendously.

My mom made the baptismal gown from the remnants of her wedding dress. All my sisters and I wore the gown at our baptisms, and my niece Bailey has worn it as well.

All in all, it was a great weekend!
